A WELCOME FROM THE SECRETARY

Welcome to the web site for the South Eastern Section of the Rolls-Royce Enthusiasts' Club. We think this is probably the best section you could join, it is certainly the busiest but to take part in what we have to offer you must join the RREC first!

The committee and I would like to extend a warm invitation to you to join us at any event in 2008 whether a member of the South Eastern Section or not. In fact you would be welcome just as an interested enthusiast of all things Rolls-Royce or Bentley who enjoys talking about motorcars! But beware - we will try to talk you into joining the RREC post haste, as we believe that it is the best one make car club and the only club to serve your needs as a Rolls-Royce and Bentley enthusiasts, owner or yet to be an owner of one of these fantastic motorcars.

Our members have an infectious interest in all things automotive and meet at some of the most interesting and most beautiful venues in the South East of England, castles, historic homes, gardens, aerodromes, vineyards and museums, they have all featured in past programmes and most will do so again in 2008.

I am Stephen Fabman-Beker, Secretary of the Section and Editor of our magazine aided and assisted by nine other committee members. They are all incorrigible motoring enthusiasts who would be pleased to meet you, discuss the club and our section within it or just pass the time of day.

Our members drive a diverse range of motorcars from Ghosts to 20hp to 25/30's to 1950's Continentals, 1960' Clouds, 1970's Shadows, 1980's Mulsanne's and Spirits to 1990's Bentley Continental T's and Turbo R's and Arnages , Silver Spurs, Seraphs and the current Goodwood Phantom. Our Prize Giving in July had a very fine line-up of 126 cars including a Goodwood Phantom as well as a Royal Mews Wraith. We welcome everyone, car or no car, section member or 'about to join' enthusiast to come and experience what being a member of the R-REC is like. Who knows, you may like what you see and join the club, join the section and make those predictable weekends a thing of the past. If you would like to receive a complimentary South Eastern Section magazine please contact me and one will be sent by return.

Members pay a small donation towards its production and their input and contributions are always welcome. We publish the best section magazine in the club, probably, well I have to say that don't I? It supplies information about the numerous events held throughout the year. Events range from a light hearted Concours & Section Prize Giving to Wings and Things at Tenterden, Garden Visits, Castle visits, cream teas and picnics as well as winter lunches. We have a foreign tour to The Champagne Region in 2008 and will be taking part in the South of England Rally at Eton College with other Sections where upwards of 500 cars attend ~ what a sight!

South Eastern Section members are a great mix of friendly people who show their satisfaction by turning up in force to almost every event. 45 cars and 150 people are not unusual attendance numbers and past Prize Giving events have seen 130 cars and 350 people.

What ever section you belong to you would be most welcome to join us and if you are thinking about buying your first Rolls-Royce or Bentley please come and discuss your thoughts and question with our members - they are always willing to pass on knowledge and advise new owners. Once you have bought your club car you will need to entrust its well-being to a trusted garage, we can help you there too as our section has some of the best Rolls-Royce specialists in the country. The committee and I look forward to seeing you in 2008.
